Brunswick Corporation’s future autonomous helm experience @ CES 2022

Brunswick autonomous helmOver the centuries, the experience of captaining a boat has remained generally unchanged. Sure, new technology has changed the way you interact with the controls, and new sensors have made it easier to avoid dangers. GPS technology has made long travels safer and more direct. But, Brunswick Corporation wants to improve the experience with a suite of new tools for the helm.

Who is Brunswick?

Brunswick is the world’s largest recreational boat manufacturer. They have shown off their “Next Wave” strategy which includes elements of Brunswick’s ACES – Autonomous, Connected, Electrified, and Shared strategy. Brunswick’s Next Wave strategy is all about giving captains more control and improving their experience with new technology.

With Brunswick’s Future Helm experience, you’ll be able to see how these new autonomous systems will change the way you boat. One of the latest in-market products Brunswick has been showcasing through their future helm experience is how a boat captain might experience autonomy systems.

Autonomous systems can make a big change in the experience of safely captaining a boat. One such enhancement is an autopilot mode which will keep you on track and direct you to your destination. This is especially helpful in inclement weather or when storms suddenly appear as they have been known to do. Brunswick has also included a collision-avoidance system that utilizes sonar and radar technology to help avoid potential accidents. In the event of an emergency, Brunswick has added a panic button that will send out a signal for assistance. This is a newer feature to ensure your safety.

What are autonomous systems?

Autonomous systems are technologies that allow a boat to navigate and operate without human input. This can include features such as an autopilot mode, collision avoidance system, or panic button. Brunswick’s Next Wave strategy includes elements of autonomous systems in order to improve the experience of captaining a boat.

These systems in the boats are similar to what we have begun to see in cars. Autonomous cars have been in development for many years, with some of the first demonstrations taking place in the early 2000s. The technology has come a long way since then, and we are starting to see more and more autonomous cars on the road, and many more with semi-autonomous modes, such as self-parking. Autonomous boating is somewhat of a new idea. As with drivers, many boaters may find it hard to get used to or trust as it is just being introduced, but once they have experienced the technology they enjoy its many benefits.

One of the many benefits of using autonomous systems in a boat is improved safety because of the ability to avoid collisions. While we think of the Titanic as a rare incident, boats hit object, including sandbars and rocks, all the time. You also get more control for the captain because it frees him up to watch out for any upcoming dangers.

One of the more convenient benefits is direct navigation to destinations. This allows for less deviation and mistakes, thereby saving time and fuel. This is also extended to include easier docking and maneuvering in tight spaces so as to avoid accidents. All of these benefits and more will help improve the experience of captaining a boat and make it a more enjoyable and safe experience for all.

Summary

Brunswick’s ACES technology is coming soon to many of the company’s models. To learn more about the technology and how you can experience it, head over to the company’s website.

Alviss.ai: Gain more knowledge from scientific research @ CES 2022

Alviss.ai Scientific KnowledgebaseIf you’ve ever had to do research for a science class in school, you know just how difficult it can be. Wikipedia is not a great source because of inaccuracies and information biases. Scientific papers are full of information but can be difficult to read unless you’re already an expert in the subject matter. Of course, you aren’t, or you wouldn’t be in the class. This is one of the problems that Alviss.ai is trying to address.

What is Alviss.ai?

Alviss.ai is an artificial intelligence software start-up building applications to extract insights from scientific data. The company offers personalized access to scientific publications and information for everyone.

The core of the company is in the indexing technology. Currently, the company has indexed more than 100 million scientific papers, extracting essential information. Using this database, the company produces applications with various applications to give people access to the information that has been gathered.

The Alviss.ai applications

There are two main applications currently available from Alviss.ai: Alviss Assistant and Read Science Better. They also offer some tools for professionals through their Professional Dashboard.

Alviss Assistant

Lalaland.ai: Using AI technology to revolutionize e-commerce @ CES 2022

Lalaland.ai Virtual ModelsOne of the more difficult things about running an online retailer is the images. One of the most difficult industries online is fashion. Every product has to have so many phones, and you can only go into so much detail with the number of models at your disposal. While some industries, such as the automotive industry, have gone nearly entirely computer-generated imagery, fashion has not been able to follow suit. Now, with the work done by Lalaland.ai, that is all changing.

What is Lalaland.ai?

Lalaland.ai is an award-winning fashion tech start-up that uses innovative AI technology to revolutionize e-commerce for retailers and consumers alike. The firm’s virtual fashion models allow brands and retailers to create personalized shopping experiences for their customers, saving time and money in the process. Lalaland.ai is changing the way businesses think about e-commerce, and is quickly becoming a leading authority in the space!

How does Lalaland.ai work?

Lalaland.ai has the ability to create entirely AI-created human models to show off a company’s clothing. The company’s virtual fashion models are powered by innovative AI technology that allows retailers to create personalized shopping experiences for their consumers.

The firm’s virtual models are able to replicate any outfit imaginable, giving businesses a new way to diversify their brands and appeal to a wider range of consumers. They are changing the face of e-commerce and is quickly becoming a top player in the industry.

Why should I use Lalaland.ai?

If you run an online fashion brand, there are a number of reasons why you might engage with the company’s technology. The first is that the time from the initial design of a product until it can be online is greatly reduced. This is because the product doesn’t have to be manufactured before the images can be worked on. The system is able to import the 3D models from the design process and put them right onto the virtual models.

In addition to not having to wait for production to complete, you also don’t have to go through the process of hiring a team. There are no photographers, assistants, or models involved. You also don’t have to secure a photo studio in which to take all of the photos. This makes it both quicker and less expensive to get the images for the website. You also don’t have to worry about licensing the photos, especially if you’re planning to go market internationally.

The real benefit, however, is that you can show a wide range of examples without a large additional cost. You can show off a virtual model of every shape and size wearing the various sizes of clothing. You can even adjust your models to the nation in which they are being displayed. In Japan, you can show a model with a Japanese look, while showing a model with a Russian look in Russia. This can make it more natural for the local population to see how someone like them looks in the clothing.

Summary

The company has been implementing its technology with s number of clients and is looking to expand its reach. To learn more about Lalaland.ai and how it can help your business, head over to their website.

Syntiant: Leading the way for deploying AI at the edge @ CES 2022

Syntiant Edge AIArtificial intelligence is all the rage these days, and for good reason. It has the potential to change the world in ways we can’t even imagine. However, there are a few challenges that need to be addressed before AI can reach its full potential. Syntiant is leading the way in addressing one of these challenges: deploying artificial intelligence at the edge.

What is Edge computing?

Simply put, edge computing is the deployment of computing resources at the periphery of a network. This can be done in a variety of ways, but the most common scenario is to place compute and storage closer to the devices that are generating or consuming data. This means that devices are not required to individually communicate with the outside world and can instead communicate with a local system. That system can then combine the data from all of the internal devices and push them to the outside world in a single packet.

Moving this type of processing from the cloud to the edge can help in a variety of ways, including increased responsiveness, decreased latency, reduced infrastructure costs, increased privacy and security, and lower bandwidth usage.

What are the benefits of Edge AI?

There are many benefits to deploying artificial intelligence at the edge, but some of the most important ones are increased battery life, decreased latency, and improved privacy and security.

One of the biggest benefits of edge AI is that it allows devices to use less power. Syntiant’s technology brings powerful machine learning from the cloud into even the tiniest devices, thereby greatly increasing battery life while reducing infrastructure costs.

In addition, by deploying AI at the edge, Syntiant is able to reduce latency by up to 100x. This is a huge boon for applications that require real-time responses, such as self-driving cars and industrial automation. By keeping data closer to the devices that generate it, Syntiant is able to improve privacy and security. This is because less data needs to be sent to the cloud, where it is more vulnerable to attack.

How does Syntiant help?

Syntiant’s breakthrough silicon architecture combined with an edge-optimized training pipeline and data platform are enabling edge AI deployments everywhere. Their technology brings powerful machine learning from the cloud into even the tiniest devices, thereby greatly increasing battery life, privacy and responsiveness, while simultaneously decreasing infrastructure costs.

The company has focused on making the technology as physically small as possible, this means that, not only can it be built into items such as temperature sensors, but can also be built into consumer products. Now you can build a pair of earbuds that have proper AI built into them, meaning they can accomplish a lot of processing on the device. Imagine being able to wear earbuds but still have access to Alexa, Google, or Siri skills without internet access while on a run.

Summary

If you’re looking to deploy artificial intelligence at the edge, Syntiant is the company to watch. They’re leading the way in making AI more efficient and secure, and we’re just getting started. To learn more about their technology and how it can help you build your next product, check out their website.

TXTOmedia: Create effective, scalable online video content @ CES 2022

TXTOmedia AI-powered video contentIn today’s global world, it is necessary to produce and distribute customer-facing documentation in different languages and versions. TXTOmedia offers a future-proof solution that unlocks endless possibilities for your content, way beyond the limitations of paper. The company can automatically convert any text into compelling video content with just one click – and you don’t need to be a technical expert. We got the details at CES 2022.

How it works

TXTOmedia is the perfect solution for businesses that want to create effective, scalable online video content without any of the hassle. Rather than going through and having to write scripts, hire editors, enlist voice actors, and all of the other work that goes into creating a how-to video, you can just use the information you already have.

The platform uses your existing documents, including internal development documents and written guides and manuals, and applies an AI algorithm to produce content. The platform is specifically tuned to create explainer videos for existing and potential customers. TXTOmedia takes care of all the hard work so you can focus on what really counts: making an impactful difference in your customers’ lives!

With TXTOmedia, you can easily produce videos in multiple languages. Using the content that’s already been produced, the platform converts to other languages and exports a new copy of the videos, expanding the range of your marketing and support nearly instantly.

Who it’s for

Creating a new product is hard. Creating a new company is harder. For those who are trying, TXTOmedia is a great partner. A small company likely can’t afford a dedicated support team. A large company often has too much information to narrow down the content. This platform can assist in both situations.

For small companies, you can augment your support team with video. When most of us need help, we search online. Written content is good for some, but videos are better for most. The user can see exactly what they need to do to use your product or fix a problem. But it’s expensive to hire the right team, mine through support documents, and produce videos. TXTOmedia eliminates that so you can focus on what you do best.

For large companies, there is a ton of data. Your existing support team is managing tickets from customers. Your designers and engineers and building the product. Your QA is looking for common mistakes. These teams infrequently work together, so data sharing is a problem. TXTOmedia does the data sharing for you to determine what content is needed. Even better, it produces the content for you, freeing up your teams to focus on their daily jobs. This enhances your customer’s experience, whether they are calling, chatting, or looking for video help.

Summary

TXTOmedia offers a future-proof solution that unlocks endless possibilities for your existing content – way beyond the limitations of paper. Create how to videos in a snap, all without having to learn how to edit, or without hiring a team. To learn more, check out the company’s website.

ScopeMedia gives online fashion retailers a boost @ CES 2021

ScopeMedia fashion assistantAs consumers, the overall process of bringing an already well-established line of products to market seems to be routine and relatively simple in our minds. For example, if we want or need a new suit, we visit retail stores (whether brick and mortar, online, or more commonly by some combination of both) to shop and ultimately make our purchase. As far as the supply chain, we inherently know there are designers, marketers, distributors, advertisers, and wholesalers/retailers involved in the process. However, we usually never stop to consider that, in this day and age, there are many other intricacies involved in helping us get to our final purchases. Actually, there is a lot that goes on behind the scenes for any industry, and especially when trying to improve upon processes and sales growth. The fashion industry is no exception to this. We had the chance to discuss one of these industry improving technologies with Paul from ScopeMedia this year at CES 2021.

As a leading developer of visual-based personalization and recommendation services, ScopeMedia has conducted years of research on Artificial Intelligence (AI) as well as Computer Vision and has developed quite an interesting system. The result is a smart visual recommendation system that involves an innovative fashion index for e-commerce retailers. As internet shopping becomes more prevalent, adding a machine learning approach to all aspects of the design-to-purchase process is a smart path to take.

Their platform can easily be integrated into eCommerce stores to assist retailers to increase customer interest and sales, as well as improve the overall shopping experience. They have a unique Fashion Index model that is specifically designed for the fashion industry. It’s not only good to increase consumer satisfaction and increased sales, but it also helps retailers conduct trend analysis on the back end.

Be sure to watch the entire video to get more information and if you would like to give their technology a try for yourself, you can check out their demo store.

BOON Spotlight provides private and personalized shopping @ CES 2021

BOON Spotlight AI shoppingAt CES 2021, Todd Cochrane sits down to talk to Dylan Grey, founder of BOON, an award-winning startup from the UK that is revolutionizing online shopping with psychological research and AI technology.

The company has built the technology to create a personalized shopping experience using a unique combination of psychology and AI. The startup works with online retailers to deliver engaging experiences and increase their conversion rates, while also guaranteeing complete data control and privacy to the user.

BOON Spotlight leads consumers through a set of fun, image-based questions that use filtering and a psychology-backed AI to give meaningful product recommendations. The service uses groundbreaking AI and powerful filtering to shortlist the best products for each shopper, helping them discover their next purchase. BOON’s technology can be used as a personal shopping assistant or a gift finder. Shoppers can instantly replace any of their recommendations to curate a list of top picks. BOON’s AI continuously learns and improves from feedback like this, so each subsequent shopper gets a better experience and better recommendations.

The majority of consumers say they want better control of their data, but that can be a challenge for conventional tracking-based product recommendation technology. One of the benefits of BOON’s technology is that every consumer controls what data they provide and remains anonymous throughout. They took a new approach when designing their AI, building with privacy-in-mind from the ground up. Through the survey questions, users control what data they provide, and all responses are forgotten as soon as the window is closed – no cookies to track you for months on end.

Research shows that BOON’s technology will increase conversions by up to 85%. BOON has found that consumers love the experience: 96% participants complete all the questions once they start, they are up to 85% more likely to checkout, and they have a 35% larger basket size.

Improve your customers’ experience now by connecting with BOON via their website.

FaceMe allows for a more personal product experience @ CES 2021

FaceMe by CyberLinkAt CES 2020, we had the opportunity to be introduced to FaceMe by CyberLink. While most people think of CyberLink because of its video-related software, FaceMe takes that video processing knowledge and applies it to one of the most sought after aspects of connected devices – facial detection and recognition.

There has been a lot of talk over the past year about facial recognition and how it can be abused. Generally, the two ways we have seen the technology misused has been in inappropriate implementations and openly accessible data. FaceMe helps to address the concerns through its technology setup. While many systems require uploading images to a centralized server, FaceMe is an entirely closed system. This design allows for companies to create unique experiences while still valuing privacy.

The product came about almost accidentally. It was originally created as a part of another product called YouCam Makeup. This product was designed to allow for virtual makeup trials, which obviously needed the ability to recognize and distinguish a face and its features. After the success of YouCam Makeup, the company saw the value that the underlying technology could hold for themselves and others.

Because FaceMe is designed to be able to be used nearly anywhere, it means that it can help enhance lots of products and services. A developer could use it to create another virtualization product, like what we see with Snapchat filters. Or, a developer could use it to allow for individualization of products, like a pill dispenser. Imagine having a single dispenser in a home and, using embedded technology, can determine who is at the machine in order to only give them their medications.

If you are interested in learning more about FaceMe or engaging CyberLink on integrating the software into your platform, check out the product’s website.

Boss Insights is bringing investment data to private companies

Boss Insights Private Investment DataFor almost any company to grow, investment is a key to success. For public companies, investors can easily get the information they need to make an informed decision because their information is, by definition, public. However, for investors to get information about a private company, they need to interact directly with that company. It also means that they are subject to the information that is presented to them. Boss Insights is bringing the benefits of public information to private investors.

Using data connectors, Boss Insights can hook into a wide variety of data producing platforms, such as accounting software, customer relationship platforms, and more. By combining this data, the platform can provide similar insights into a private company that investors would need to make a smart decision. Investors often compete with one another, especially when choosing to invest in a high profile company. That competition can cause investors to over offer funds, take less equity in trade, or simply make hasty offers. With the edge that data can give to these investors, they can prevent those hasty decisions.

For startups, working with Boss Insights can also provide a lot of value. Not only does it bring attention and trust between investors and the company, but it can also reveal information to improve their operations. In the startup world, most people have multiple roles, and people can be in a position for which they have less than optimal training. Some of that knowledge gap can be filled by an AI-powered platform that reveals cracks in the foundation or places for improvement. If it is a red flag for an investor, it should be a red flag for the company’s management.

Boss Insights is available now for startups and investors to use. For more information on the platform or to sign up for an account, head over to their website.
