Jeff Gets Head Shaved at CES 2012 – Schick Hydro 5

During the fun at CES 2012, Jeffrey Powers stopped by the Schick booth, where barbers were on hand to take care of that stubble – on his head. The barbers were using the Schick Hydro 5 razor, with 3 vibration settings, for a smoother shave.

Elliot from Elliot & Co was the barber who tended to Jeffrey’s hair. During the event, he talked with Jeff about the Schick Hydro 5 razor.

Monday, 9 am, Todd Cochrane and Jeffrey Powers head to Ceasar’s Palace and the Sony Lifestyle store to talk about the newest version of the Sony Bloggie – The Bloggie Live.

The Bloggie Live itself is an update of last years Bloggie Touch. With a big touchpanel and 1080p video (at 30fps), you can do video and stills on the camera with the 12 MP still image capture and 1080p /30 and 720p/60i. You can also do video and stills at the same time (but not while streaming).

“We keep the Bloggie very simple and easy to use,” says Amy. “The large red button remains, your power button and photo button are the other two. It is fully PC and Mac compatible.”

The fun comes in after you shoot. You can live stream into Qik (which needs to be set up ahead of time). People on Qik can send messages – you cannot respond, but you can see that information on the screen.

Play Memories Mobile Lets You Tether Your Bloggie

With a cellular signal, download the Play Memories Mobile (for iPhone or Android) and you can use your phone as a hot spot for your photos or video.

Liquid Image Sports Camera Masks

At CES Unveiled Liquid Image displayed their line of sports masks that can be used to take both still and video images. They have three product lines: Scuba for underwater, BMX for motorcycles and ATV, and the Summit series for skiers and snowboarders.

The Scuba masks will work down to 300 feet and last 2.5 to 3 hours on a single charge. The camera lens is located at the top of the mask in between your eyes so the camera sees what you see. There are colored LEDs and audible sounds to indicate the mode (still or video) and if the mask is recording.

All the masks support both still and video. The images are recorded to a micro SD card and a USB port is provided for downloading the images and video from the mask.

The Scuba and Summit Series also have 1080p HD versions. The standard masks retail for around $300 and the HD masks for $400.
