Future of Manufacturing: Rimon Technologies Captures Shop Knowledge

In today’s fast-paced and ever-evolving industrial landscape, the retention and transfer of knowledge have become critical challenges for organizations. A conversation with Kordian Caplazi from Rimon Technologies sheds light on an innovative approach to address this issue through the digitization of knowledge, particularly in manufacturing and service sectors. As experienced workers retire or transition to different roles, companies often face significant knowledge gaps that can jeopardize operational efficiency. Rimon Technologies offers a solution that not only preserves vital expertise but also makes it accessible to new employees, thereby ensuring a smoother transition and continuity in operations.

Digitizing Knowledge to Bridge Gaps

The core of Rimon Technologies’ approach lies in capturing the tacit knowledge of seasoned workers before it is lost. By utilizing state-of-the-art body cameras, experienced employees can record their daily tasks without interruption. This method allows for the seamless documentation of complex processes and operations, which are often difficult to articulate in written form. The captured videos are then processed and organized into a searchable database that new employees can access. This innovative system transforms the learning curve for newcomers, allowing them to retrieve concise, relevant video snippets instead of sifting through lengthy recordings. This efficiency not only saves time but also enhances the learning experience, making it easier for new engineers to adapt to their roles.

The integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into this knowledge-capturing system further elevates its effectiveness. AI processes the recorded video content, understanding both the actions of the operator and their verbal explanations. This capability enables the system to create a searchable database where specific tasks can be easily located. Additionally, the AI can interpret questions posed by users in various languages, making the platform accessible to a diverse workforce. This multilingual support is particularly valuable in global industries where teams may comprise individuals from different linguistic backgrounds.

Data Accuracy is Essential

Maintaining the accuracy and relevance of the information within this system is paramount. Rimon Technologies ensures that the content is validated by industry experts, creating a feedback loop that allows users to report inaccuracies or gaps in the information. This iterative process not only enhances the reliability of the knowledge base but also fosters a culture of continuous improvement within organizations. By empowering employees to contribute to the knowledge repository, companies can create a dynamic learning environment that evolves alongside their operations.

The impact of digitizing knowledge extends beyond individual companies; it has the potential to transform entire industries. As manufacturing and service sectors increasingly embrace technology, the ability to quickly onboard new employees and bridge knowledge gaps will become a competitive advantage. Organizations that invest in such knowledge-capturing systems can expect to see improved operational efficiency, reduced training costs, and enhanced employee satisfaction. Moreover, as industries face the challenges of an aging workforce, the need for effective knowledge transfer becomes even more critical.

Conclusion: Rimon Technologies Improves the Knowledge Transfer Process

In conclusion, the conversation highlights the pressing need for organizations to digitize their knowledge to bridge gaps created by workforce transitions. Rimon Technologies exemplifies a forward-thinking approach that leverages technology to capture, preserve, and disseminate expertise. By doing so, they not only mitigate the risks associated with knowledge loss but also empower new employees to thrive in their roles. As industries continue to evolve, the importance of knowledge digitization will only grow, making it an essential strategy for future success.

Nimagna: Unleashing the power of AI in video communications @ CES 2024

Nimagna AI virtual studioVideo communication has become an integral part of our lives, especially in recent times when remote work and virtual meetings have become the norm. However, traditional video calls and presentations often lack the engagement and connection that comes with in-person interactions. That’s where Nimagna, a Swiss startup, comes in, revolutionizing video communications with the power of artificial intelligence (AI).

Revolutionizing video communications with AI

Nimagna, founded by Stephan Stadler, a computer science expert with a background in computer graphics, aims to bring the capabilities of professional TV broadcasts to video communications for everyone. Stadler’s previous company, LibraVision, was responsible for the graphics seen on ESPN and Fox Sports broadcasts. Now, with Nimagna, he is applying his expertise in visualization and camera analysis to transform video communications.

The goal of Nimagna is to eliminate the dullness and lack of engagement in video presentations. Stadler understands that when using platforms like Zoom or Teams for presentations, the presenter often becomes small on the screen, losing the human connection with the audience. Nimagna’s solution is to create an immersive and captivating video experience without the need for extensive setups or gear.

How Nimagna’s software works

Using AI, Nimagna’s software allows users to be cut out of their background environment and placed on a three-dimensional virtual stage. This stage can be augmented with various content, such as PowerPoint slides, images, and videos. The movements and transitions on this virtual stage are all controlled by AI, creating a dynamic and visually appealing presentation. What’s remarkable is that this can be achieved with just two static cameras, eliminating the need for expensive pan-tilt-zoom cameras.

The output of the Nimagna software appears as a webcam, making it compatible with popular video conferencing platforms such as Teams, Zoom, and Webex. Users can also use their favorite recording devices to capture the content. The software enables live streaming of presentations during video calls and allows users to record and share their content on social media platforms or professional networks like LinkedIn.

The quality of the Nimagna software’s output is a key focus for the company. As computer graphics experts, they strive to deliver high-quality visuals. While there may be some pixelation or artifacting, especially in more challenging environments, the software generally provides a solid and visually appealing experience. The founders acknowledge that achieving pixel-perfect quality similar to what is seen on professional broadcasts is challenging but state that for 99% of use cases, Nimagna’s output is more than sufficient.

The possibilities are literally endless

The possibilities that Nimagna presents are truly game-changing. It allows individuals and organizations to have access to the kind of professional studios and setups that were once only available to big-budget productions. The ability to create visually stunning presentations and engage audiences on a deeper level opens up new opportunities for businesses, educators, and content creators.

Imagine being able to stand inside a multi-million dollar studio, controlling the virtual stage with AI, and delivering a presentation that captivates your audience. Nimagna’s technology makes this possible, democratizing video communications and empowering individuals to create high-quality content without the need for extensive resources.

Conclusion: Nimagna makes presentations more engaging

In conclusion, Nimagna’s AI-powered video communication technology is revolutionizing the way we engage with virtual presentations. By bringing professional-grade capabilities to everyone, Nimagna empowers individuals and organizations to create visually stunning and engaging content. As we continue to navigate the world of remote work and virtual interactions, innovations like Nimagna’s offer a glimpse into the future of video communications.

The software is available today for Windows and macOS. The company offers a few pricing options starting at free and going up to Enterprise licensing for large corporations and more custom needs. To learn more or download the software, head over to their website.

Pictory: AI-powered video editing for engaging videos @ CES 2022

Pictory video editingIf you’re a content creator, you know how important video can be to your success. But, unless you are specifically focused on creating video, it can be a real challenge to turn your talents in that direction. Filming a short video can be easy enough, but what about the editing? That’s where Pictory comes in, bringing AI directly into the video editing process.

What is Pictory?

Pictory is the world’s first AI-powered video editing platform that makes it easy for content creators and marketers to produce engaging videos automatically. With the platform, you can create video highlights, add captions to videos, and more in minutes. The company is based in Seattle and was founded in 2019 by a team of experienced marketing and technology executives. Pictory is backed by world-class investors and is changing the way we create video content.

How Pictory works

Pictory uses AI to automatically edit videos based on engagement data, so you can be sure that your videos are optimized for maximum impact. The system also makes it easy to repurpose existing long-form content such as webinars, podcasts, and blogs into social snippets.

You upload your raw video into the Pictory system and the platform does the initial tedious work for you. It is able to look for spacer words, such as “um” and “ah” and automatically remove them. You can even customize which words are considered spacers so the AI can adapt to your personal speaking patterns.

Pictory’s AI then analyzes your video and provides you with a range of options for how to proceed. You can choose to have the AI automatically edit your video based on engagement data, or you can select from a variety of editing options to create the perfect video for your needs.

Videos from text

Pictory can also create videos from text, so you don’t even need to have a video to start with. Just upload your blog post, podcast episode, or other written content and the system will turn it into a beautiful video that you can share on social media or your website.

Videos can be pictures and video clips laid over music, or Pictory can convert a script into speech. This is done through digital voice synth technology. That means that a virtual voice will be used to speak the lines in your script. As AI technology has improved, so have synthetic voices, meaning your video will still sound natural.

Who is Pictory for?

Pictory is perfect for content creators who want to add video to their repertoire but don’t have the time or expertise to edit videos themselves. It is also great for marketers who need to create videos at scale. With the platform, you can easily turn existing written content into videos, or create short video highlights from longer videos.

Summary

Pictory is changing the way we create video content and making it easier than ever for content creators to get started with video. To learn more about the platform and how it can help you create engaging videos automatically, visit the company’s website.

TXTOmedia: Create effective, scalable online video content @ CES 2022

TXTOmedia AI-powered video contentIn today’s global world, it is necessary to produce and distribute customer-facing documentation in different languages and versions. TXTOmedia offers a future-proof solution that unlocks endless possibilities for your content, way beyond the limitations of paper. The company can automatically convert any text into compelling video content with just one click – and you don’t need to be a technical expert. We got the details at CES 2022.

How it works

TXTOmedia is the perfect solution for businesses that want to create effective, scalable online video content without any of the hassle. Rather than going through and having to write scripts, hire editors, enlist voice actors, and all of the other work that goes into creating a how-to video, you can just use the information you already have.

The platform uses your existing documents, including internal development documents and written guides and manuals, and applies an AI algorithm to produce content. The platform is specifically tuned to create explainer videos for existing and potential customers. TXTOmedia takes care of all the hard work so you can focus on what really counts: making an impactful difference in your customers’ lives!

With TXTOmedia, you can easily produce videos in multiple languages. Using the content that’s already been produced, the platform converts to other languages and exports a new copy of the videos, expanding the range of your marketing and support nearly instantly.

Who it’s for

Creating a new product is hard. Creating a new company is harder. For those who are trying, TXTOmedia is a great partner. A small company likely can’t afford a dedicated support team. A large company often has too much information to narrow down the content. This platform can assist in both situations.

For small companies, you can augment your support team with video. When most of us need help, we search online. Written content is good for some, but videos are better for most. The user can see exactly what they need to do to use your product or fix a problem. But it’s expensive to hire the right team, mine through support documents, and produce videos. TXTOmedia eliminates that so you can focus on what you do best.

For large companies, there is a ton of data. Your existing support team is managing tickets from customers. Your designers and engineers and building the product. Your QA is looking for common mistakes. These teams infrequently work together, so data sharing is a problem. TXTOmedia does the data sharing for you to determine what content is needed. Even better, it produces the content for you, freeing up your teams to focus on their daily jobs. This enhances your customer’s experience, whether they are calling, chatting, or looking for video help.

Summary

TXTOmedia offers a future-proof solution that unlocks endless possibilities for your existing content – way beyond the limitations of paper. Create how to videos in a snap, all without having to learn how to edit, or without hiring a team. To learn more, check out the company’s website.

Papago logoAmericans are just beginning to use dashcams in their vehicles (but they are commonly used outside of the United States). There are many good reasons to use one. Papago is the frontrunner when it comes to dashcams. Their dashcams not only record your drive but also have useful safety features.

Todd and Don spoke with Marketing Rep of Papago Inc., Rachel Quaill, at CES 2016. They discussed the many uses and features of Papago’s dashcams, and focused on the GoSafe S30. It is Papago’s higher end model in their GoSafe series.

The GoSafe S30 is super compact and lightweight. It has a Sony sensor, which, in conjunction with the GoSafe S30 high quality lens, gives you super high quality nighttime vision. The video it produces will not have the fish eye look. In addition, you can take the camera off the mount and use it to take photos.

You can mount the GoSafe S30 to your windshield either with a suction cup or a sticky mount (that is intended to be permanent). Plug the camera into your dashboard. You can set up the video resolution however you want, but 1080 HD is recommended. The camera will start recording (both video and audio) when your vehicle starts moving. Blast Motion Captures Baseball Swing

Motion by BlastHere at CES, there’s been all kinds of sporting sensors and motion trackers from tennis rackets to golf clubs. The Easton Power Sensor with Motion by Blast brings the same kind of technology to baseball bats. Jamie and Daniel take a swing with Donavan Prostrollo, Senior Director of Marketing at Blast.

On show here is the Easton Power Sensor which attaches to the base of a baseball bat. Unlike the sensors in some other sporting goods, it can be switched between bats. The Motion by Blast software then synchronises video of the player with the telemetry from the sensor to show exactly what’s happening when the player takes a swing. The data is sent via Bluetooth to a nearby smartphone or tablet and the software automatically identifies the swings and clips the video to create a series of video highlights, overlaid with metrics such as swing speed, time to contact, swing direction, power, efficiency, etc.

At US$149, the Easton Power Sensor is not an impulse purchase but it is very affordable for a baseball team or serious player. Available now both online and at good sports shops.

Wistiki Tracking Tags by Philippe Stark

Wistiki LogoBluetooth tracking devices are fairly common but when the tags have been designed by Philippe Starck as “connected jewels”, it’s definitely worth taking a look. Lisa Despeyroux, Wistiki’s Communications and PR manager connects with Jamie and Daniel to tell them more about Hopla!, Voila! and Aha!

French outfit Wistiki have partnered with the famous designer, Philippe Starck, to create three shapes of tracking device (or Wistikis) in four colours. Hopla! is credit card shaped for wallets and purses, Voila! is rectangular for keychans and the oval Aha! dangles for pets or gear. Colour-wise, the choice is yellow, blue, orange and pink. It all adds up to Gallic flair!

As with most tracking systems, the Wistiki connects to an app on the smartphone and there’s a fairly standard set of features including ring, reverse ring and leash. There’s an additional neat feature where if someone finds a lost Wistiki, they can message the original owner to arrange return. And the ringtone is cool too.

The new range is launching on Indiegogo now with expected delivery in late 2016. Current perks offer six Wistikis for US$149.
