The TPN team was in two Halls yesterday and highlight four products that they found in those halls that they wanted to highlight. From those four items we pick a Product of the day. Watch and see what four products our team members picked.
Andy McCaskey talks with Nectar – a Phone battery charger that will recharge a smartphone up to 14 times before it needs to be recharged. Or as they say: the world’s first truly portable power device that will power all of your CE devices for up to a month with a single power pod. (www.nectarpower.com/)
We are 4 days and a wake up before CES starts, and our live coverage schedule is just about full! This will be exciting for the live viewers as they are going to get to see 6+ new products or services every hour.. Here is a status of where we are.
Companies should not be concerned though, as we will have three floor teams in addition to our live coverage that will be working to cover every inch of the show floor. Because our team members have different coverage genres we will in some cases cover areas twice with separate team members. If companies still desire a live broadcast spot they need to book now. If we completely fill our schedule we will likely add a pre-show day on Monday..
Nicholas DiMeo and Scott Ertz, of F5 Live: Refreshing Technology are excited and ready for our fourth year of covering the International CES 2013 in Las Vegas, NV. For us, the holidays aren’t over until we’ve covered every inch of the now 1.8 million square feet of show space that is CES 2013. Our show is now fully integrated into the Tech Podcast Network coverage and we can’t wait to show all of you the coolest, most innovative and downright nerdy gadgets and toys that we’re able to find. From professional audio equipment to the next leap in processing power, CES has it all and we are interested in finding the products that will end up as holiday gifts by this time next year.
With the TPN booth being moved to just outside the North Hall, things are bound to get a little hectic and crazy so be sure to follow the news, as it happens, on your phone, computer or tablet as we bring it to you as live as it can be. We’ll be live streaming (quite literally), live blogging, live tweeting and doing pretty much everything we can do be the only source you need to log onto during the most important week of the technology world. From big time CEOs to the startups at Eureka Park, we’ll have 45 hours of content for you to enjoy from the moment the show floor opens, right here on this site. Then, once the show comes to a close, we will be providing you with more in-depth interviews from the show floor, as our team scoured the floor extensively to make sure we didn’t miss a thing. Oh, and don’t forget to keep the site up so you can catch all of the antics that happen during the afterparties and events that take place during the night. Those videos will also be right here for you to enjoy, as informative or as crazy as they might be!
It’s all going down on January 8-11, live from beautiful Las Vegas, Nevada so mark your calendars. We’re ready; are you?
I expect the tablet and smartphone imitative will be crazy. Everyone will have an app for these devices or an accessory to connect to these devices. I expect 3D will still be making strides and TV screens will get bigger and thinner.
LTE is being rolled out but it doesn’t mean the next version of wireless is not going to rear it’s head. Your home wireless is going to pass 802.11n (with 802.11ac) and you will soon pass a Gbps mark.
TPN Live Stream of CES
With the booth move to North hall, I expect our live stream will be off the charts. There will be a lot of traffic where we are so our exposure will increase ten-fold.
Never before have I been this excited about CES. With CES being the largest show floor I am hoping to see a lot of innovative technologies and great new gadgets.
Then there are the after parties. Lots of great events where you can meet the cast and characters that cover CES year after year.
This is the cant-miss show of the year and I am excited to be part of it.
Here is the presentation in the video if you would like to follow along:

Coming to CES? Better bring 2 pairs of shoes because The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) announced CES will have 3,000 companies displaying. This will make it the largest show in history.
“With the largest show floor in history, more innovative technologies and services will launch at the 2013 CES than anywhere else in the world,” said Gary Shapiro, president and CEO, CEA. “From cloud-based services, advancements in digital health, connected vehicle technologies, the latest apps, flexible devices and beyond, the innovations unveiled at the 2013 CES will create new jobs and further economic growth around the world.”
How large is CES?
It’s 1.87 million square feet (173729 meters or 42 acres). What is 1.87 million square feet compare to?
Retail shops in Downtown Austin, TX (6.3 million square feet total)
A football field is 58,000 Square feet. That is over 32 football fields long
Facebook’s Data Centers are around 300,000 square feet. CES would engulf 6 Data Centers
The Zones of CES
Many new zones have been added and cultivated throughout the years including the iLounge pavilion, Eureka park, digital health and fitness tech zone and many more.
Congrats to CES for being the largest floor show. I know I will be walking a good deal of that 1.87 million square feet Jan 8-11th.
Great minds think alike and work together even better. In that vein, Tech Podcast Network (TPN) will be partnering with Livestream for our 2013 International CES coverage, Jan. 8-11 at the Las Vegas Convention Center. The streaming partnership between TPN, a community supported website dedicated to promoting technology on the Internet, and Livestream, which offers event owners a complete set of hardware and software tools to share events with a growing community online.
The choice was clear in working with Livestream for CES. Our viewer experience will be enhanced in the following ways.
An ad-free streaming platform.
