The YubiKey from Yubico gives you the ability to login seamlessly and securely with your one-stop secure access key. Yubico is working with the FIDO alliance and U2 tokens to give you web security for your access to a variety of sensitive web materials. The user has a secure user-name and password along with physical USB token, the YubiKey.
The YubiKey can be used with your computers or smartphone. For use in a computer, you can just plugin the USB key into the computer’s USB ports to gain access to your sensitive passwords and usernames. For smartphones, the YubiKey utilizes NFC (Near Field Communications) technology to talk to your smartphone and allow you to surf the web safely. The device offers seamless authentication to your sensitive information online.
The YubiKey is available now on their website Yubico.com and connects with services like LastPass to give you true two factor secure identification and login. It’s available there for $25. The upgraded FIDO enabled version will be coming soon.

The smartphone is changing security monitoring and home automation – with consumers demanding the ease of use of app based display and control. Rocstor has unveiled a new portable external hard drive that practically guarantees that your data won’t be stolen. The hard drive, which comes in capacities up to 1 TB, has a slot for a smart card. Enter the card, punch in your code (which you choose), and you unlock the drive and all of the data you have stored on it. The drives are FIP certified and ship with multiple cards. These hard drives are probably not for average consumers, but more for business and government. They are designed to protect highly-sensitive data and eliminate those stories that are always in the news these days about stolen laptops filled with account and credit card information. Todd Cochrane and Tom Newman spoke to Peter Whitman Director of Operations for DataLocker, about the importance of encrypting your data, especially when traveling. Peter Whitman talked about DataLocker newest product the DLS3. The DLS3 is an encrypted portable hard drive. It connects to your computer by USB 3.0 technology (it will work on USB 2.0) It use military grade 256 bit AES XTA mode encryption.
The DLS3 drive uses two factors of authentication a RFD card and a pass code. If someone tries to guess the code and enters the wrong code nine times the system will wipe the data. There is rapid secure wipe. It also uses keypad randomization so you can not figure out the code by lifting the fingerprints. It is platform independent so you can use with a Mac or PC. You can use is as a bootable drive and even partition it. It should be shipping in March.
