Siemens Minitech App Makes the Hearing Aid Cool!

We talked with Tom Powers of Siemens at the TPN CES live broadcast. Siemens has come out with the Minitech app that will work with tablet or smartphone so they can focus what they are listening to.

What looks like regular hearing aids, these devices are bluetooth connected so you can use your phone (as a hands free device), a lavaliere microphone with attenuation to adjust sound, or sound from their TV or another device.

If you need to talk with someone while your music is playing, simply press a button on the aid and talk with those who approach.

Remote Control Your Hearing Aid From Your Smartphone or Tablet at CES

siemens_logoHearing devices are getting better and better all the time. Chris Montera, the Geekymedic, guest host for Health Tech Weekly talked to the folks from Siemens about their new connected hearing aids and how you can control them and use them in association with other devices like your smartphone and tablet. The controller programs for hearing aids give the user flexibility to dial in their hearing aids to each unique and specific situation in which they find themselves.

The best part of using a mobile device like an iPhone or Android phone to control your hearing aids is that you can do it without anyone know that you’re doing it or even revealing that you’re hearing impaired. You’ll just look like you’re texting like anyone else and not fiddling with your ears or holding an odd looking remote control up to your ear. The connection is via bluetooth with the MiniTek remote controls which then communicate with the hearing aids via inductive technology.

These devices are available now and can be found with your local hearing health professionals. For more information and to find a local hearing professional, visit hearing.siemens.com.

When you have a hearing aid, you have to constantly take it out and put it back in based on the activities of your daily life. That’s not the case with the Aquaris Micon Waterproof Hearing Aid from Siemens.

Eric from Siemens tells Jamie Davis, the Podmedic about the new waterproof, dust proof and shock resistant Aquaris Micon hearing aid they were showing off at the CES Unveiled event. Now there are really no limits to a hearing impaired person’s ability to go out, go swimming, work in their wood shop or any other activity they might want to do. They don’t have to be worried about protecting their hearing aid devices from the environment. The Aquaris Micon hearing aid is completely sealed so they just go about living their daily lives.

Advanced Programmability and No Whistling

It’s important for us to be able to hear everywhere in our daily lives. Communication is a central part of life and with the Aquaris Micon there is new and enhanced processing that allows for programmability and none of the “whistling” audio feedback commonly heard from other hearing aid devices.

The Aquaris Micon hearing aid from Siemens is available now from Audiologists and other specialty healthcare professionals near you. Pricing is variable based upon vendor and region.
