People absolutely swear by their OtterBox cases, and with good reason. They are the number one selling protective case brand for cell phones because of their durability. They have expanded their line over the years to offer slimmer models and have added colors and fun designs. So what have they come up with this year?

We were delighted to see their newest series, the uniVERSE Case System. This is their take on the modular phone case system and it’s wonderful. On the back of the case, there is a removable accent plate that reveals a cool docking system that allows the addition of various modules. At any given time, you can remove the plate to add cool accessories such as a wallet, battery pack, microphone, additional storage, camera lens and even a card reader. When you have finished with the accessory, you simply remove it and replace the accent plate. It couldn’t be more simple.

Like their other cases, it is thin and lightweight and comes in two pieces that quickly and easily snap together for a tight fit. The back is also clear so you can show off the phone’s color and the logo.

They still have their flagship line, called the Free Series. This line has models available for multiple phones, including iPhone and Android. It also comes in two pieces that snap together and give all of the piece of mind that we love for our phones. They showed this model off to us on the Google Pixel and noted that they are the only waterproof case available on the market today for this model.

We all have our favorites when it comes to our cellular devices. Whether you prefer your cell phone to be Windows, Android or Apple, and regardless of your favorite apps and phone cases, there is one thing that we can all agree upon. Accele Electronics is currently working on a new solar charger to add to their product line. We were intrigued to learn what they had to offer in this arena, especially since solar chargers haven’t really taken off due to things like their extremely slow charge times. But we have to say, we were quite impressed with their adaptation of the technology.

First and foremost, we liked the design. It comes in the form of a small, compact case that open up to take the charge. It only takes six hours to fully charge the unit, but even with being charged for only an hour, it can jump start a car. Yes, you read that correctly: it can jump start a car that has a dead battery. When tested on a full charge, it jumped started an SUV and then charged four cell phones that each had dead batteries. It doesn’t get much more impressive than that. All from a solar charged battery.

The unit comes with the car jumper cables, has an A/C plug along with a USB port and even an onboard flashlight making this the perfect charger to keep stored in your vehicle. It also comes with the a/c power cable and a car adapter, making it capable of conveniently charging up more quickly if necessary while on the go.

In recent years, tablets have been integrated into most of our daily lives. Some people use them for watching movies, some people use them to keep up with their social media antics, and some people even use them for selfies. However, there are some people, like myself, who have a tablet specifically to be a workstation; using it for media is just a convenient bonus.

What is not convenient though, is the keyboard market for these tablets. Most of them claim to turn your tablet into a laptop or aim towards turning your system into a workstation. Honestly, this market has been sorely lacking. Most keyboards designed for tablets don’t seem to be designed for the device itself.

Brydge aims to change all of that. Their Bluetooth iPad keyboard has been on the market for a bit and is seeing revisions this year, but at CES 2017, Brydge was pleased to show off their new model designed for the Surface Pro 3 & Pro 4 systems.

Brydge 12.3 won the Innovation Award for CES 2017, and for good reason. First, the keyboard is designed specifically for the system. Just like the Brydge 7.9 and 9.7 (designed for the iPad mini and iPad Pro respectively), when attached to the Surface Pro, it truly converts your tablet into a laptop. The connections are secure so you don’t have to worry about the system slipping off of the keyboard, and the brackets that secure the system onto the keyboard are very stiff, in a good way! This allows you to tilt the screen at any degree you desire. You can even fold the pair beyond 180°. What sets this model apart from the iPad keyboards is it also comes with a touchpad on the keyboard.

Here’s the most exciting feature of this device: for the Surface Keyboard, there is a model that offers added storage to your device. 128GB of high speed SSD storage to be exact. The keyboard is also rechargeable and each charge can last up to 3 months.

Brydge is also currently building a partnership with OtterBox to create full-body protection for the system while docked on the keyboard. In true OtterBox form, the design is both attractive and protective. For now, cases are only available at for the iPad 2 and iPad Pro 9.7.
