Consumer Pinball Machines from Stern Pinball

Stern Pinball at CES
Stern Pinball at CES

Stern was at Digital Experience where we learned they have a consumer line of pinball machines. This is for the person that wants a working machine in their home without having to refurbish or build one themselves. Best part is Stern has licenses for big brands like Transformers and Avengers and also try to mimic the commercial machine.

Machines that weigh 125 lbs and are smaller but still have the quality of a commercial machine. Tilt, multiball, 2 player scores, audio and sound effects. Best part is it’s backed by Stern Pinball who have been making pinball machines for years.

Machines start at $2499 and come in 3 grades of machine. They are better than those table-top machines we saw as kids growing up and I could see many a man-cave with a Stern machine. (www.sternpinball.com)

Sony released the HandyCam PJ790 camera with 24.1 MP sensor. The camera also has a projector so you can show people what you recorded. However if you need to connect another device to the projector the new dual HDMI connection will let you do so.

The HDR-PJ790 is available for Pre-Order $1599

We also take a look at the HDR-PJ430V which for an additional price you can get the Wifi dongle that can turn your iOS or Android device into a remote control.

Andy McCaskey talks with Nectar – a Phone battery charger that will recharge a smartphone up to 14 times before it needs to be recharged. Or as they say: the world’s first truly portable power device that will power all of your CE devices for up to a month with a single power pod. (www.nectarpower.com/)

CES Booking Update

ces2013We are 4 days and a wake up before CES starts, and our live coverage schedule is just about full! This will be exciting for the live viewers as they are going to get to see 6+ new products or services every hour.. Here is a status of where we are.

Tuesday – 100% Booked
Wednesday – 100% Booked
Thursday – 90% Booked (9 Slots Left)
Friday – 50% Booked

Companies should not be concerned though, as we will have three floor teams in addition to our live coverage that will be working to cover every inch of the show floor. Because our team members have different coverage genres we will in some cases cover areas twice with separate team members. If companies still desire a live broadcast spot they need to book now. If we completely fill our schedule we will likely add a pre-show day on Monday..

F5 Live is Ready for International CES 2013 – Are You?

Nicholas DiMeo and Scott Ertz, of F5 Live: Refreshing Technology are excited and ready for our fourth year of covering the International CES 2013 in Las Vegas, NV. For us, the holidays aren’t over until we’ve covered every inch of the now 1.8 million square feet of show space that is CES 2013. Our show is now fully integrated into the Tech Podcast Network coverage and we can’t wait to show all of you the coolest, most innovative and downright nerdy gadgets and toys that we’re able to find. From professional audio equipment to the next leap in processing power, CES has it all and we are interested in finding the products that will end up as holiday gifts by this time next year.

With the TPN booth being moved to just outside the North Hall, things are bound to get a little hectic and crazy so be sure to follow the news, as it happens, on your phone, computer or tablet as we bring it to you as live as it can be. We’ll be live streaming (quite literally), live blogging, live tweeting and doing pretty much everything we can do be the only source you need to log onto during the most important week of the technology world. From big time CEOs to the startups at Eureka Park, we’ll have 45 hours of content for you to enjoy from the moment the show floor opens, right here on this site. Then, once the show comes to a close, we will be providing you with more in-depth interviews from the show floor, as our team scoured the floor extensively to make sure we didn’t miss a thing. Oh, and don’t forget to keep the site up so you can catch all of the antics that happen during the afterparties and events that take place during the night. Geekazine at CES13 – TPN’s 3rd Year Live Streaming CES!

Geekazine
Geekazine

It’s that time of year again. Time to get plans in order and get ready for the biggest event of the year.

Holidays? No! I’m talking CES 2013!

Hello, I’m Jeffrey Powers of Geekazine and How to Record Podcasts. I am here to let you all know I will be once again going to CES 2013! Just like Geekazine did in 2012. Just like Geekazine did in 2011. Now it’s 2013 and I’m heading out there again!

What I’m expecting this year at CES

I expect the tablet and smartphone imitative will be crazy. Everyone will have an app for these devices or an accessory to connect to these devices. I expect 3D will still be making strides and TV screens will get bigger and thinner.

LTE is being rolled out but it doesn’t mean the next version of wireless is not going to rear it’s head. Your home wireless is going to pass 802.11n (with 802.11ac) and you will soon pass a Gbps mark.

TPN Live Stream of CES

With the booth move to North hall, I expect our live stream will be off the charts. There will be a lot of traffic where we are so our exposure will increase ten-fold.

Never before have I been this excited about CES. With CES being the largest show floor I am hoping to see a lot of innovative technologies and great new gadgets.

Then there are the after parties. Lots of great events where you can meet the cast and characters that cover CES year after year.

This is the cant-miss show of the year and I am excited to be part of it.

Here is the presentation in the video if you would like to follow along:
