Waterproof, Drop-Proof, Extended Battery Life? Oh My!

lifeproof-freLife Proof is starting off strong this year with their FRE POWER battery case made for the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6s. This case provides a waterproof and drop-proof design with a new extended built-in battery pack. The case is waterproof under 6.6 feet submerged and can last up to an hour. It is also drop proof for up to 6.6 feet.

The new extended battery feature offers a quick and simple design. To charge your phone, simply flip it over and press a button for double the battery capacity. This is the first time ever for Life Proof to be selling a battery extending case for plus sized phones.

Life Proof is also selling their new active-wear called LifeActiv. LifeActiv is made for all phones as long as you apply the quick mount adapter on the back of your case. This adapter works with Life Proof’s arm band, bike mount and suction cup car mount and allows easy access to your phone or device at all times. Just snap on your device to attach and to remove it, turn your device 90 degrees.

LifeActiv products are available now. The retail value for the accessories range between $40 and $50. You could also find the new regular sized phone case for $129.99. The Plus sized version is expected to come out at the end of the quarter for $149.99.

Life Proof Mobile Cases

You’re bleeding all over your nurse’s iPad but it’s not a problem because she’s got a LifeProof case on that mobile device. Join Health Tech Weekly host Jamie Davis, the Podmedic as he chats with LifeProof CEO, Gary Rayner, in their booth at CES 2013 last week.

Protect Your Devices From Life

LifeProof is all about the things that happen in your life and making sure you don’t have to worry about your expensive mobile devices during those life events. The LifeProof cases make your device waterproof, dirt proof, snow proof and shock proof to military specifications so that when you’re on the job, you don’t have to worry about dropping your iPad or iPhone to the floor or in a dirty medical environment.

LifeProof Tactical Case

Any spills or cross contamination on your device can be wiped or washed off and disinfected just as you would any other piece of equipment and the functionality and features of the tablet or phone are completely undiminished. The LifeProof cases also have available accessories like hand straps and shoulder straps as well as stands and mounts for use in the hospital or ambulance environments.

Features Similar Cases Lack

Many similar cases that advertise being waterproof are very bulky but the slim design of the LifeProof case and the way it seals directly to the glass face of the device makes it similar in weight and profile to most standard cases. It’s more of a conversion for your mobile device than a case. The rubber bumpers and gaskets are completely bonded to the case body leaving no gaps in which pathogens can hide.

The LifeProof cases are currently available for iPhone 5, iPhone 4/4s, 3rd or 4th generation iPad, and the 4th generation iPod Touch. There will be a Samsung Galaxy S III case coming soon.

Find LifeProof cases at Amazon.com or other popular retailers. Prices begin at $79.95.

GoPano Turns iPhone Camera into 360° Periscope – CES Unveiled

GoPano
GoPano

By now, we’ve seen a lot of lenses that you can attach to your iPhone to make them take better pictures. But this lens from GoPano does something different: It makes some great 360° pictures and video without hassle.

Simply attach the iPhone case, then attach the GoPano mount. Start your camera (or video) and you are recording in panoramic view. When you are done, upload it to the GoPano website and you can pan the video to see what’s happening around you. Attach a microphone to your iPhone and people can get a new experience from your videos.

GoPano starts at $79.95 and is for the iPhone 4 and 4s. They also have a lens attachment for other cameras if you want to get higher quality photos or video. You can then use the Video Warp software to process and publish video.
