Android Application Store BloomWorlds Brings Child Safe Content

Application stores are popping up left and right. But do we have any that are Child-safe? Bloomworlds is just that – for the Android Environment.

Parents can find applications on BloomWorlds that are appropriate for their child’s Android device. This site is still being worked on, but the idea is parents review applications, then write testimonials to let other parents know how safe it is.

For developers, Bloomworlds will offer several revenue options, just like the 70/30 option the Apple Store offers.

ArtRage: Paint on Tablets Using Paintbrushes

It’s weird to say – use a paint brush to make some masterpieces on a iPad or Galaxy Tab. But it’s true. We saw it with our own eyes. That is what ArtRage is about

They had a series of tables on easels that had the software installed. You can create a watercolor picture, a canvas painting or more right on the device. Use the stylus pen to draw a lines or select the menu options. Or just use your fingers. Many different types of brushes.

Prices start at $20 through the website (http://www.artrage.com) or through the Apple store.

Taser Consumer Devices

Taser was back at CES 2011 to show people how to use the product and protect their families. They are also showing some other great products.

During the interview, Carissa is going to taser the “Bad guy” in the protective booth. Basically, you load up the cartridge, slide back the lever and a laser becomes active. Point, shoot and set down to make you and your family safe.

Taser guns are available starting at $379. They also have training for use, so you don’t get hurt in trying to make your family safe.

GE Watt Stations Charge Faster, Smarter

Operating on 220 Volts, you can charge from 3-8 hours on Level II charging. It complies with J1772 smart charging standards, giving universal charging. This is a global solution.

They also released the Nucleus, which watches all your power consumption. You can then learn how to conserve energy.

USB Dino-Lite Microscope from BigC Magnify 240x

Joesph Kane from BigC joined the TPN Live CES coverage to showed off these great USB microscopes. The Dino-light digital camera is a portable digital microscope camera with magnification range of infinity to 2-3 microns 215x magnification.

During the interview, we looked at the gears of a pocket watch. He then focused on the crystal and the ruby in the watch. We then looked at Joesph’s skin to see the penetration.

The Dino-Light is $499, but you can get microscopes starting at $200. They also have fixed strobe at 60Hz.

iGrill: Monitor Meat Temperature through iPad

Jonathan Conelias from iDevices joined the CES Live show. He showed off a new product – the iGrill. It’s a thermometer you can observe through your mobile device.

The iGrill Application is only available for iPad / iPhone, but an Android version is in the works. You insert the thermometer sensor into the meat, then connect to the iGrill. Connect via the mobile device and you can tell how done your Turkey, Roast or other meat is.

The iGrill application also comes with some great recipes, so if you don’t know how to cook that bird, or want a good side dish, you can just look it up.

Xi3, Z3RO Turns One Small Computer into Four

David Politis stopped by the CES live booth to talk about the Xi3 – a remarkable computer in it’s own right. However, he also showed us Z3ro, a module that turns this one small computer, into four.

The Xi3 is an idea – take the motherboard of a computer and modularize it. Therefore, if one part of the computer goes, you get the replacement and pop it right in there. Especially nowadays when the GPU is in the CPU and the Solid State Drive is getting put right on the board.

David shows us how easy it is to open and fix. Better yet, David also showed off Z3ro – a terminal emulating device that can turn the one computer into 2. You can put 3 – Z3ro adaptors and turn one computer into four!
